How many pictures did we take?

Is the digital lifestyle overwhelming us? When my parents took us on vacation they probably shot two rolls of film with the family Instamatic (remember flashcubes?) When we returned home we wouldn’t see the pictures for over a week after we dropped the film off at the drugstore for processing.

I finally finished copying the last of the digital pictures from the compact flash cards I used in our Canon digital camera during our Disney spring break trip. Grand total of digital photos: 916.

Planning for our cruise

Planning a trip to Disney World can be an intimidating experience. The sheer number of choices involved about where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and the best strategies for maximizing your funds and time makes this a logistical challenge not meant for the unprepared.

Fortunately, there is a wealth of information available for those who need a crash-course in preparing for a Disney vacation. We made a trip to Disney World in the summer of 2003 and still have the guide books marked and web bookmarks saved. As for the cruise ships, I was starting from square one.

August 2003 Disney World Pictures

Our last Disney trip was arranged at the end of the summer of 2003 as Alison was preparing to enter kindergarten. Six pages of photos are available for your enjoyment if you’d like to share some of our magical moments from this trip.

Stormalong Bay

After our last Disney trip Alison’s absolute favorite feature of our Disney Resort was Stormalong Bay, the incredible collection of pools, lagoons, water slides, and beaches shared by guests of the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.

Stormalong Bay has a reputation as the best resort pool at Disney World, and it was the primary reason I selected the Beach Club over other resort options for our Spring Break trip in 2005. For a great tour of Stormalong Bay check out this online slideshow.

Imagine the sinking feeling in my stomach when I read that it was closed for refurbishment!
