After spending some time using Blogger I have so much more appreciation for Movable Type! It truly is a joy to work with.

Now don’t get me wrong. The Blogger system (and I am talking about the basic, no frills, free version, not Pro or hosted or anything else) is an nice service for a beginner, and the fact they make it available for free in the post-dotcom era is even more amazing.

But I think we have become so spoiled by the number of MT-powered blogs that a blog without an option to leave a comment seems, well, arrogant or impolite. So I checked to see how much you would have to pony up to get commenting in a Blogger powered blog – and it’s not even in the Pro version. Planned, but not there yet.
