Planning for our cruise
March 7th, 2005 by Glenn Chase

Planning a trip to Disney World can be an intimidating experience. The sheer number of choices involved about where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and the best strategies for maximizing your funds and time makes this a logistical challenge not meant for the unprepared.

Fortunately, there is a wealth of information available for those who need a crash-course in preparing for a Disney vacation. We made a trip to Disney World in the summer of 2003 and still have the guide books marked and web bookmarks saved. As for the cruise ships, I was starting from square one.

Several months ago I ordered two books about the Disney Cruise Line from Amazon:
Disney Cruise Line 2005 : Set Sail with Expert Advice is a colorful pocket guide, but pales in comparison to Passporter’s Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call: The Take-Along Travel Guide and Planner. If you are going to get one, get the latter. The only thing unique to the Birnbaum book was some capsule customer reviews of shore excursions that included some unbiased critique.

Several web sites have proved invaluable about finding out more about Disney cruises. Here’s a list to get you started in case you are considering cruising with “The Mouse:”

I’ll add more sites as I come across them and feel they belong here.
